Does Rockbox support multple genres for one file?

ID3-TagIT 3 allows you to put more than one genre for ID3 V2 tags(e.g. Aphex Twin-Xtal could be tagged "Electronica" and "IDM"). So would tagcache place it under both Electronica and IDM when browsing by genre?

I'm thinking of doing this as a workaround for smart playlist support(e.g. go to genre "all rock" to have a playlist of songs from multiple rock genres).

Also, does anybody know a tagging program which supports multiple genres? ID3-TagIT 3 only allows you to add multple genres to files one at a time, not for many files.

EDIT: Figured out how to do it with foobar2000.

It probably doesn't create multiple real genre tags. I'm curious what exactly it does though. I think it's unlikely that it will work.

When I open a 2-genre file in foobar2000 it shows up as "Grunge; Rock" under the genre field tag without the quotes. It separates the different genres with a ";". When I open this file in a program which supports only one genre for ID3V2(i.e. Winamp), it only shows it as having one genre: "Grunge".

So... it really has one genre named "Grunge; Rock" (without the quotes).

Read my above edit. If the program supports one genre oly, then it skips the second genre, completely ignoring it.

What does Rockbox do with it, then?

Rockbox only reads the first genre. Off to send a feature request.
