If the modified program is not to export 24bit digital signal? Hardware support this?

The playback engine of rockbox outputs 16bit. I'm not aware of patches that increase that.

Internally, the resolution is higher, but I don't know enough of the playback engine to help you out on that...

The original FW does not support 24bit

source->dsp->spdif signal->dac

The Rockbox can control dsp's output,so we can make it output 24bit signal.

I want to know that the hardware support it or not.

Thanks for petur's reply

I thought the limit of what we could output was 20-bit, 48khz... But don't quote me on it.
And I believe it requires a considerable amount of work to enable this.

The best we can do is 20 bits 44.1kHz, due to hardware limitations.

Well, the Coldfire can *record* at 48kHz using the digital in, but can only play back at 44.1kHz.
