X5 Battery Drain while connected to PC
« on: August 01, 2006, 10:26:10 AM »
Lately, I've twice experienced strange battery drains when I connected my X5 to the PC.
I didn't have the AC power plugged in, because it always worked for me without it.
But suddenly I got a 'low battery' and the X5 shut himself off.

The first time it happened, I transferred a lot of files. So I thought, ok, the HD reads/writes consumed too much battery power and the USB didn't deliver enough power.
But the second time it happened I had my X5 connected to my office PC to listen to some music off the X5's HD (through Winamp). The battery was charged like 70%. I did this many times before, and I never ran out of battery - on disconnect, the battery always was more charged than before I connected it. There shouldn't be many HD reads too when just listening to music. But the battery drained anyway after ~3h.

Did something (in the last 2.5 weeks) change in the RB code that could have caused this? But... the USB connection part (RB/player not running when connecting) is still iAudio firmware, right?
Or did somebody else experience this? Does anybody else have excessive battery drain while player being connected to PC?

Thx for your help!
Taurus

PS: I switched back to the iAudio FW two or three times recently. I think I flashed a slightly newer iAudio FW on the player than I had before when I switched. Maybe this changed something?
