broke ipod 6th gen
« on: July 31, 2024, 07:13:19 AM »
I have a 6th gen ipod classic. I installed rockbox on it. I wanted to make sure the SSD I put in it did not corrupt my rockbox install because the SSD was bigger. I wrote the rockbox bootloader with
Code: [Select]
mks5lboot64.exe --mkdfu-inst bootloader-ipod6g.ipod --single
meaning the Apple fw is gone. Which is sort of fine, except I want it back because I'm having problems with the SSD.
I have another 6th gen that I have not touched. It has the original Apple FW and has not had rockbox installed on it.
My question is - can I get the original Apple firmware off the virgin ipod and apply it to the one I messed up?
