Quick Music Transfer

Hello there, I know that the manual for IPod Classic is very comprehensive and well written, well done folks! However all I want to do for now is to simply transfer music to get me going and I can learn the ropes later.

Can someone explain please in simple terms the process for transferring music on the laptop to the iPod ie?

1. Connect USB lead
2. Open music database etc.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone but we're not all technically minded and I have to start somewhere. Your help would be appreciated.
