iPod classic (4th gen) unusable after battery change
« on: October 16, 2023, 05:43:07 PM »
Hi,

I installed Rockbox a few months ago on my A1099 (iPod classic 4th gen).

The battery was dead so I changed it. Now after changing I only have a folder icon with exclamation mark.

I have tried to intall iTunes on my PC, and to restore the factory state of my iPod, without success : it doesn't proceed with an error.

How to solve this?

Thanks in advance!

It probably means the iPod can't communicate with the hard drive. It might just be a loose cable, or it could have died. You can replace it with an iFlash board and microSD storage.
