iPod Mini G2; FM accessory issues; Hardware/Accessories

I got two things in the mail today. A Griffin AirClick for the iPod Mini, and a genuine Apple in-line FM remote. I was really excited to use both of these because of how limited the Apple Universal Dock felt while using it with the remote. I plugged both in, and was just as disappointed as the dock. No controls. They were both sending a signal, but the iPod wasn't doing anything with it.

Is there still progress to be made in terms of IR and FM accessories? Has anyone gotten a stable patch to allow them to work?
I want these accessories to work so they're not just laying around. I had huge plans to use these as intended, but can't now.
