iPod Classic 6G/7G: Builds with volume limit at 0dB (no headphone gain/clipping)

DELETED: This is irrelevant now that Rockbox has a built-in volume limit. Thank you so much, developers! :)

Hey! Thanks for the solution! Now I'm trying to do the same for my Sansa.
I have exactly the same problem/annoyance :)

It would be nice to have this as an option in the Volume Settings, ability to limit the maximum volume to a certain amount.

There is a volume limit setting. Of you don't have it try updating to the current build.

Ah I see, the stable build hasn't updated for a long time and I was using it.
Thanks! It's now working perfectly.

We haven't put out a release in a long time.

It pays to note that our build classifications are largely misleading. Stable, unstable, and unusable, don't necessarily imply that the builds are stable, unstable, or unusable at all.

Generally speaking, for any target that has a stable release, it should be perfectly safe to switch over to the development snapshots. In fact due to the extreme length of time since the last release, I would advise and wholeheartedly recommend doing so.

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
