Please be concise with the bug report. People get notifications by email, and if there are a bunch of notifications all starting with "Task opened: In Rockbox for Android ..." people are likely to stop reading -- all those summary lines look the same (remember, such a long line will be truncated in most cases when displaying). Besides, it's pretty likely that, if you file a bug, it appears in Rockbox since it's the Rockbox issue tracker. Don't state the obvious (at least in the summary, the detailed description is a different story).
Ok. Can I change the summeries to make them more concise? I didn't find a was to change existing summeries.

It's already possible to control RB running on Android with a "remote helper" application, but that's an extra hassle. I know that some music apps support this natively, so assume that it'll get added to Rockbox at some point.

It should work with wired remotes. Bluetooth remote headsets are a different matter, and I don't know how to support them (IIUC you need per-device code).

I just wanted to point out that the last 3 builds (all in May) have caused my Cowon d3 (with Ogg files) to crash.

I am able to install, initialize the database.  However, once I re-boot, I receive the following white screen message:

Panic
audio_reset_buffer_noalloc(): EOM(65536>0
bt pc: 0x81057ae0, sp: 0x4462fa80
      A: 0x81057b90
      A: 0x81057c08
      A: 0x8103066c
      A: 0x81030dfc
      A: 0x8101ac40
bt end

EDIT 5/18- None of the newer builds fix this problem.  The last good working build was 4/17 (392fbb4-120417).  If I get a chance this weekend, I will wipe out my library and try a newer build with Flac or MP3 files.

Has anyone else noticed that the setting choice bar disappears when a setting is made?

For example, if equalizer is turned "on" then when one goes back to the equilizer setting the bar indicating "on" is no longer present.  The equalizer is turned on but there is no indication of that status except in the config file.

As best I can tell this behavior started happening after sometime in early March.

Connect the player to your desktop PC, transfer the downloaded .apk file from your desktop computer to your player's main memory or microSD card. Disconnect the player from your computer and find the .apk file on the player itself. Select/tap it and it should ask you if you want to install. Select ok and you should be done. Think of an apk file as being a little like an exe file for a Windows PC or a dmg file for Mac.

On the Motorola Defy+, as well as the Samsung Nexus S the Rockbox GUI crashes from time to time. This means the rockbox app only shows a black screen, while the music plays along flawlessly. One thing that doesn't work when the GUI crashes is the function which pauses android in case the headphones get unplugged.
This behaviour can be witnessed on all versions of rasher's unmodified Rockbox for Android versions I tested so far (should have been more than ten).

Is there hope of improvement? Is this bug known?

Hi there,

i just bought an Samsung Galaxy S Wifi 4.2 and installed the rockbox app. Everything works fine so far, but coming from an Archos Jukebox Recorder I miss the voice features.

I have activated voice menus and usage of the .talk clips in the settings, but it does not work at all. What do I need to do to get voice working?

Regards,

Bossi

The same as on every other Rockbox device: install a voice file for the menus and talk clips for files.

OK, understood, but how do I install the voice file, or in which directory should i put the voice file?

Want to add that i get the same thing on the LG 2x running various roms / kernels / basebands

Also, why did the android status bar get disabled? It worked fine while it was included and would at least be a nice option to have (enable / disable in settings for example)

Installed the 480x800 on my HTC EVO 4G, and I've been having a problem with the volume control. Sometimes, when changing the volume, the phone will jump from whatever volume I had it at back to 0db. This has happened a number of ways, including using the side buttons, the touch interface on the now playing screen, and the scrolling list in the sound settings. The problem wasn't present at first, or at least I hadn't noticed it as much, but the jumps in volume are very frequent now, happening almost constantly. I just installed the most recent build but the problem persists.

I had tried to make my own theme a week earlier, so my best guess is that I accidentally altered a config file in a way I shouldn't have and that is causing the problem. I gave up on the theme however and I switched back to the cabbie theme that comes with the build. Any insight into this would be appreciated.

Also, regardless I love what you've done here :) I really missed rockbox after I lost my sansa, and the app is already leagues ahead of anything I've found on the market! Keep up the great work :D

Edit: I tested it out a bit more, and if I use the touch volume control on the now playing screen it will spike for a split second, but does stay at the volume I tell it to. Controlling media volume while the app is in the background also works as it should. I also tried clearing my settings but this did not seem to affect anything.

It's not supported at the moment. You'd need to install the voice files into a directory not reachable from the file browser.

My android/rockbox problem is still persistent, even with CyanogenMod9 (Android 4.0.4) on the Motorola Defy+.
Is there a possiblity to get additional technical information to specify our problems?
