unable to load bootloader?

i have a 5th gen Ipod Video 80gb. it is in recovery mode and i have no idea why. ive tried restoring it in itunes doesnt work tho. and im trying to load the bootloader and i keep getting the error unable to load bootloader.

can anyone help?

Rockbox requires a working iPod. If iTunes can't restore it, it's likely something is physically wrong with it, and unlikely Rockbox will work.

You can try the instructions on the IpodManualRestore wiki page, though.
