Please see my previous post:
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=20286.0This is a new installation. I overcame the problem described in the above link by formating from within the Sansa software. Then, doing a manual install by unziping the Rockbox software and fonts, followed by running sanspatcher got me to the point where I could start the player and Rockbox would come up. But of course, without installing any music files, this is not very useful. Technically I guess I am now beyond an install.
I am using Ubunut 8.04. When the c200 is mounted and I cd into the drive, I can run an ls -a and I get owner and permission info. For example:

But if I create a subfolder in the MUSIC directory, I run into problems. Specifically, when I reboot, I get a blinking Rockbox screen. If I reboot again and select the Sansa software so I can mount the c200, I go into the MUSIC dir and I see the newly created folder with no owner or permissions.
Am I clear? Can you offer any suggestions?
Thanks!
