Headphone Jack On/Off Switch
« on: November 14, 2005, 04:08:03 AM »
I don't know if this suggested idea is possible due to the hardware, but wouldn't it be a good idea if, when you pulled your headphones out of the player, the player switched off?

No, the hardware can't detect that the headphones are removed.

It's tricky, but it could be done. I don't really see the point though.

I noticed the other day that the iPod pauses playback when you disconnect the headphones - but it doesn't unpause it when you plug them back in.

I personally found that behaviour annoying, but I can imagine that there could be situations where a user would like the action of connecting/disconnecting the headphones to make Rockbox do something.  I just can't think what though.
