« on: September 16, 2005, 12:54:08 AM »
i own a JBMM20 for long, but isaw ther's no moded firmwares for AV/MM archos...
is the first step reversing original one?
in this case what's the way to make a .ajz file 'human' readable, has archos a generic encryption/compression for all models ?
ANY help to reverse it would be appracieted

The "encryption" (we use to call it scrambling) is different for all Archos players. But the rockbox scramble tool already knows how to scramble and descramble Multimedia firmwares.

In Rockbox we have never needed to disassemble much. We have concentrated on investigations how the HW works and then written our own code to use it as we see fit.
