MPEG Player Problems with Newest Build
« on: October 11, 2007, 05:35:59 PM »
Hey, I updated rockbox last night so that I could get seeking in mpegplayer, and none of my videos play right. They're just blotches of green. What happened?

Yeah, I used WinFF, and they played perfectly before. Is this a new bug or something?

Do you have voice enabled?

Yes. Does that screw it up?

Yes. It's fixable, and was fixed briefly, but the bug was reintroduced with the resume patch. If you disable voice, mpegplayer should work, as a workaround until a fix is again committed.

Has anyone worked out a solution to the problem?  ???

i have a nano 1st gen and earnestly the mpeg player is an added blessing. But the prev ver of mpeg player (without seeking) had wonderful picture quality.i heard someone say that the infamous "blotches" bug is reparable and i am very eager to see the performance of the player get back to what the original version delivered. :'(

p.s. on my nano, the "blotch" problem seems to be more loud when BLACK COLOR comes on the screen.Remaining colors get by almost unnoticed.

i hope you GENIUSES find a solution soon.

1) This thread isn't about picture quality.
2) I see no "bug report" describing blotches, nor how to reproduce them, nor even a screenshot of the previous and current versions of mpegplayer showing a comparison.

You should file a proper bug report if something has been broken.
