ipod classic support ?
« on: October 09, 2007, 04:30:59 AM »
Hi,

Are there any plans for supporting rockbox on the iPod classic ( 6th generation ) ?

Actually I purchased one last week (80G 6th gen), and was quite sure that it was a 5.5 gen video ipod, but it seems that it's 6th gen ... I did not know that the 6th gen existed ...

Of course rockbox does not reconize this ipod ( tried the rbutil and manual procedure ), so no way of installing it ...

If rockbox does not plan to support this device, do you know any other alternative embedded os that could run on this hardware ( my primary interest is the support of vorbis format as 98% of my music is encoded with using this format )

Thx for any info or pointers !

cdrx

Search the forums before posting. This has been discussed several times.
