Title: Question about streaming a Rockboxed iPod to the PC
Post by: isamu on March 07, 2007, 03:00:13 PM
Hey guys how's it going? Hi guys. I have a couple quick questions:

1)When you stream music from your Rockboxed iPod to the PC via WinAmp, do you have any control from the ipod itself? In other words, can I rewind, fast forward, skip, etc from my ipod or does it have to be from Winamp?

2)How is the streaming as far as lag is concerned? Is there any lag between the time you select the song you want and the time it's actually played? If I'm not mistaken 4th gen ipods(which is the one I'm getting) use USB 2.0 correct?

3)Do you ever experience any freezes or crashes when streaming from your ipod?

Thanks in advance :)

iPods, as seen from the PC, are just USB hard disks. None of these questions really have anything to do with Rockbox.

It's just playing music from a USB disk.

If you want to listen on your computer speakers from your iPod, you could just plug them into your iPod, remember.  I do this all day every day at work because I prefer the Rockbox interface to pretty much any Windows program.
