Title: Unable to browse music files
Post by: cfcjb on October 25, 2006, 08:50:27 PM
Hi all,
yesterday I installed the latest version of Rockbox on my Ipod Photo 60GB.
I loaded up some Flac files and added a color theme, everything went fine.
Today on trying to access my Flac files they won't show up. They are still there (I verified that) but when I drill down from artist to album then to music, the music files won't appear and hence won't play.
Does anyone have any ideas?

What File View mode are you in?

AH HA!
File view. That fixed it.
Thanks for that, but here's a question I know I didn't change the file view prior to shutting down last night so would you have any idea as to why it changed on me?

Thanks for the fix and thanks in advance for any further advice.

You can actually change File View from the quick menu that you get to by holding the Menu button down. People seem to very easily change file view by accident, either when their player's in their pocket or otherwise.

Then that would be what happened.
Thanks for both tips, they are much appreciated.

It is easy to change, at least on an iPod.  I've done it by accident before.  Never change repeat or shuffle, though.  Must be because the menu and play buttons are on the vertical.  It's a bit surprising (and scary, the first time) to hit "select" and have your player tell you you need to initialize Tagcache :D
