Title: Fuze firmware with only internal improvements from the stock?
Post by: fqwfasd3 on November 29, 2015, 11:03:51 PM
Has anyone made an updated Fuze firmware that only enhances internal aspects, and doesn't modify the UI?  I just want the benefits of >8000 songs and a faster initial boot after adding music.

I tried Rockbox and hated it.  The font starts way too small (yeah I fixed that), the menus have too much extra stuff, there's extra lag when browsing through the database that wasn't there with the stock UI, functionality changed quite a bit.

The fuze stock firmware is not open source so if you want changes made to it you will have to talk to Sandisk.

"too many options" -_-

seriously - give Rockbox a chance.  It's like a zillion times better than the OF.  Get used to it and you'll never want to go back.  I tried using the original Sansa firmware once - worst 90 seconds of my life.

OMG. How one can prefer that joke on the Sansa Fuze. When started Rockbox for the first time after Sandisk firmware a new world has opened and made me willing to use the thing again.

Boot time is instantaneous. Features are fantastic. It should be made mandatory on all players - and the developers rewarded accordingly.
