Title: Clip+ & audiobook resume advice (please and thanks)
Post by: Djiblet on September 24, 2015, 08:41:33 PM
Hello all.

(I had this working but after getting a replacement because of a faulty screen I'm starting afresh and looking for info/reminders regarding what initially worked for me)

In 'AUDIOBOOKS' I have two folders with multi-part audiobooks and one file which is just a big (audiobook) mp3.

In 'PODCASTS' I have a load of mp3s. The podcasts work/resume fine.

I have no music.

I would like to know how to easily resume the audiobooks.

When first trying out RockBox I managed to get the audiobooks to resume by going into 'Files/AUDIOBOOKS', selecting one of the (book) folders and choosing/clicking on the first/top of many mp3s. I didn't have to scroll down to my most recently played. The player would resume where I left off - eg. the tenth file, two minutes in, when I clicked that first file.

I can't for the life of me replicate the settings that worked. And no, I didn't press power to bookmark and exit: I navigated to wherever I wanted, a podcast, back to the aforementioned first file of a book (played) and then to another book (ditto) and it just worked.

Have you any idea what the settings were?

I would imagine numerous people have RB working like this.

Thanks for any help.

I'm having the same issue. How do you set files to automatically resume where you left off, after you leave that file to listen to other files for awhile?

You can use "Recent Bookmarks" for this.

P.S. Rockbox have many features and settings, so manual should help: http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansaclipplus.pdf
