Title: Sansa Clip v2 looks bricked after installing RB
Post by: sdf5 on October 08, 2014, 08:11:58 PM
Hi,

After successfully installing RB on my Clip+, I decided to install RB on my Clip v2 as well but it looks like I bricked it in the process. Not sure what went wrong. The last two messages on the screed were that "Firmware is being upgraded" then I think it said something like "Firmware was successfully installed" then the screen went black and that's how it remains now. The battery was at 100% prior to the RB install.

I tried holding the Power button for a minute or so hoping that it would reset the player. No effect. Tried connecting the player through USB to my Linux box. No effect. The computer syslog shows no signs it sees the player at all.

Any ideas? Thanks

There is a chance it will come back to life once battery drains out.

If I have my clip v2 not responding and the screen is black (I assume it is not powered on then) I hold power for about a minute or so and then I quickly toggle the power button. That always worked for me.

Tried it, didn't work for me. Thanks for the tip though.

It's been 5 days, still no signs on life, regretfully. When I connect it through USB, /var/log/syslog shows no signs the computer sees the player.

Anything else I can try? Thanks
