Title: clip zip / 64G trouble
Post by: Jean on August 08, 2013, 11:41:02 AM
Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm seeking advice as to what to do about the errors I'm having with my sansa clip zip. I have a samsung 64G card in it.
I formatted the card fat 32, if I recall correctly I even did a slow format, checked the card with h2testw.exe, checked all mp3's with mp3val.
First time I connected to the pc it said it wanted to check the internal drive for errors and chckdsk found and corrected some.
The errors I'm getting vary, sometimes I can enjoy my music for days (yes yes), other times there are several issues a day.
There's 'playlist control file is invalid' or 'error accessing playlist control file'at startup, after a reboot it's mostly fixed.
There a freezes, playback just stops and sometimes I have to press the button for some secons for the device to reboot. When playing the same file again that caused the freeze it *never happens twice, whch leads me to bleeive it's not the disk or the mp3 at fault.
Sometimes there's 'nothing to resume' when there should be some 5000 songs left in the playlist.
I have had 3 times kernel panick, today I wrote it down: 'flush_fqt_sector() could not write sector xxx, error -26 (hey devs, you don't write those error messages for nothing, now you see them coming back at you! :)

First I suspected the 64 disk to be at fault but I'm not sure, that playfile is on the internal disk. And why do I get a write error, is that some index file that's updated or what? I'm just trying to get more info.

I am using a nightly build from some 2 weeks ago. It seems slightly better then 3.13.

Any advice welcome.

The sd card? Here in netherlands at dataio.nl, their reputation is ok.
Your suspect is the 64G?

I found an issue where my music was freezing randomly.  It turned out that the album art in my files were an image format rockbox didn't like.  I made the jpg images and they worked.
