Title: Sansa c250 w/ amp...
Post by: Seufari on November 03, 2009, 04:42:17 PM
Hey...

I am a longtime rockbox user, first with my ipod and now with my new sansa c250.  The problem is that I want to change one small fact...

I am wanting to hook up an external amplifier and want the signal coming out the headphone jack to be neither attenuated or amplified.  Basically I am wanting as close as I can get to a true line out.

Can this be achieved using Rockbox?  If it is as simple as setting the volume to 0db, then can this be done permanently (to where the volume controls do nothing)?

That is it for now...

Thanks!

Set the volume to 0dB.  You can't disable the volume controls without editing the source code if thats what you're thinking.

It should be a relatively simple change to "un"-define the keymappings that relate to volume. And we have a lot of documents on how to compile the sourcecode (and even a forum for this).

So I'd have to say "yes".

[Although there's another place to change the volume in the Sound settings, but I'd be tempted to leave that in just in case you need to change the volume yourself later on]
