I used rockbox on my old ipod and i just got a delicious Sansa e260

As soon as I plugged it in it was a mess, didnt work at all i had to reinstall drivers for MTP just to get it to connect
 
It eventually did. Like this: (http://i42.tinypic.com/30l1ks1.png)

Notice it doesnt have a letter like the DVD drive. It doesnt make any sense...thus rockbox doesnt detect it at all.

Weird thing is that the Media Converter it came with detects it as connected but everything else doesn't

ffs what should i do next? ><''

Read the Rockbox manual. You haven't followed all the directions.

As a hint, your player isn't supposed to be MTP.

hmm...yeah thats the thing it just assumes its that and installed itself over and over as that

but ill see if theres a way to force it around assumptions.

Settings > USB Mode > MSC  
Voila! Simple as that.
