Title: Database menu translation
Post by: bamboozz on April 11, 2009, 11:37:18 AM
 ???
Currently, I install Rockbox 3.2 release in my H10 20G. And, main menu, music tags can well display chinese. But, the database menu is still in english. I found that the database menu is controlled by "tagnavi.config". Then, i open the file with text editor, and replace menu items with chinese words, like "artist" to "歌手", eg. But, when I start player, all database menu items are display as some blocks. It seems it doesn't support chinese. But, when go through inside the menu items, chinese tags(artist, album,eg) can display well.
Please see sim-ui screen capture in attachments.

Do we have method to display chinese in database menu?
Anybody can help me?
Thanks

You need to
(a) use a font that contains the needed characters. If tags are displayed correctly you already have that
(b) the tagnavi.config file needs to be in utf-8, not any local encoding of your PC.
