.. so no step-over this refreshing anymore. :(
i update nearly daily my sansa e280 with daily builds and since a week or little bit more, the automatic skip from "refreshing the database" in the OF doesn't work anymore.
when i connect my sansa to the usb, following happens:
1. sansa reboots to OF (as ever)
2. OF "refresh database" (skipped in older daily builds)
3. OF stays in main menu
now i have to reattach the usb-cable to get the familiar "connected" screen.
is this bug known, or is there an option anywhere i missed??
edit: i'm using r20254

Sorry for moving it twice. Technically, it's not an installation question, nor was it related to the Rockbox database. :)
Rockbox has the USB stack enabled now. You don't have to use the OF for data transfers anymore.

oh. i didn't know that. thanks! :)
but than it's strange, that rockbox boots to OF when i plug the cable in the switched-off sansa: it turns on, and boots to OF.
you're right, when the player turned on, the rockbox-stack is working. cool! i didn't saw the player in my windows, because i have lot of netdrives here and the driveletters overlapped with the rockbox ones.
so is it a "feature" that the OF boots up, when the player is not switched on and the usb cable gets plugged in?

That should be in the next bootloader release, but I'm not 100% sure. Just watch the news on the front page; we'll announce when to update your bootloader.

thanks!!

Oh, and just to add one extra bit of news: now that the USB stack is enabled, that means you can transfer directly to your microSDHC card, so go crazy go nuts with file transfers! ;)

you can transfer directly to your microSDHC card
yeah, i saw it ... and I AM going fuckin crazy here !!
that's SO damn cool.

If you can't wait for the 3.2 release (I haven't specifically heard anything about it, but assuming the 3 month release cycle is still on track, it should be sometime this month), the 3.2 release candidate bootloaders are over here (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/9955).
