Is it possible to have presets for specific headphones & rockbox players, when used creates more accurate response? For example my Grado RS-1 have a peaky top end, so if there's RS-1 preset to correct that.
-
It's certainly possible but this is kind of up to each person. If you find settings that flatten out the frequency response for your phones you are welcome to share them on our wiki.
-
Problem is each set of phones would need to be measured, corrected with Rockbox EQ then rechecked.
-
A tone generator in the EQ settings menu (or a plugin) would be nice for doing this.

Nice idea, saratoga. 8)

I once tried to get preglow to write just such a plugin. Unfortunately, he didn't take me up on it, even when I tried to bribe him with beer.

Hey me too!
me: i was mostly just thinking of having this as a tool to tweak the current EQ
might actually be easier to just add a tone generator to the current EQ setting menu to allow you to test it
preglow: easier, yes, but i actually think this is the kind of thing i'd want in a plugin
preglow: sounds neat anyway, would allow even n00bs to use the eq properly :)
preglow: no bloody rock presets
me: yes it seems most people use the EQ stupidly
preglow: indeed
looks like adding a plugin api hook should be pretty trivial
But I got bogged down with other projects.
