Title: iPod Dissappears After Connection To PC
Post by: Giannis on September 04, 2008, 10:45:53 AM
My iPod doesn't want to pop up as it should under XP. I've got the 30 Gb 5th Generation iPod Video. It appears but then vanishes again after a couple of seconds.

Once or twice I've managed to transfer files to it but usually it just won't stay around long enough to perform any serious tasks.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Try a USB port in the back.  Try a different cable.  Etc.

Make sure you have "Enable use as a hard drive" ticked in iTunes - that's usually the culprit here.

Hey, thanks!

Enabling disk usage in iTunes seems to have solved the problem. Thank you!
