Title: rockbox killed my ipod???
Post by: ferrmar on August 21, 2008, 01:09:50 PM
Hi to everyone.

This is my firts post here, and I'm sorry to start with a request of technical assistance.
I installed rockbox on my Ipod 5th gen 30gb, everything seemed working smoothly, I could see the screen of Rockbox, I charged the files by selecting the Database Submenu, I got the message "please disconnect" and then... puff...

no sign of life, I can't switch my Ipod on anymore.
My pc doesn't recognize the Ipod as a new drive like it diid with the original firmware.

Is my Ipod dead? A frined of mine told me that installing Rockbox was a safe operation, is he wrong or did I do something wrong?
pls help me.

Try turning hold on then off again, then holding Menu+Select for 30 seconds. If this doesn't work, try it again. Eventually doing this will cause your iPod to reboot.

I don't know what you mean by "I charged the files by selecting the Database submenu", could you please try to clarify exactly what you've done?
