Title: MicroSD expansion on Sansa e250 w/ Rockbox
Post by: TheNumberOneShmuck on August 18, 2008, 08:59:52 PM
To the best of my knowledge, my Sansa e250 will only accept regular MicroSD cards, 2gb and below. I heard that installing Rockbox will allow use of MicroSD HC cards for 4+ gb of extra storage. Is this a fact?

Yes. Note however that as rockbox doesn't have its own usb mode yet, you probably need a cardreader to actually put files on the card.
You could also put files on the internal flash and copy them to the sdhc card from within rockbox

Installing Rockbox won't delete the MP3s I already have on the player, will it?

Rockbox uses about 15 Mb of your HD but it won't overwrite anything. This thread might help you if you plan on using a microsd crad on a Sansa e250 http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=17599.0 you do not need an exterbal reader, another bonus from RB
