Title: Ipod 5.5, 'Committing Database' on each boot
Post by: mbale on July 01, 2008, 11:12:51 AM
Hello Rockboxers.  First of all thanks for all your work on creating such a great 'product.'  Rockbox is what made me bite the bullet and buy an ipod thanks to not being tied into Apple's proprietary systems.

I updated to the most up-to-date release last week and ever since doing so, every time I boot up my ipod it displays 'Committing Database" with a 1/9-9/9 countdown.  This takes about 5 minutes and it pretty annoying considering that it never did this before.  I'd rather not have to wait 5 minutes every time I start my player.  Anyone have any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

I have an 80gb ipod video with roughly 60gb of music or so.  I have 'AutoUpdate' set to off, and 'Load database to RAM' set to on, though I've tried different settings and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section.

Try using a new build. See if that fixes it.
