Topic about says it all. I installed rockbox and it works perfectly. But I connect the usb to add/remove files and nothing happens. It just charges.
I've tried MSC and MTP mode, both do NOTHING. It doesn't say connecting or connected. It just sits there and starts charging.
My friend's c250 also has the same problem. Any ideas anyone?

you need the MSC mode to connect to a computer and transfer files.
Also you must use the OF, Rockbox has no working usb mode at present.

As my first post indicates, I have used MSC and MTP mode, and neither do anything. They just charge the player. Yes this is in the sansa os, not rockbox.

Try turning off your player, hold down the |<< (back) key, then plugging in the USB cable when it's turned off. This should start the OF and immediately make a connection.
-
Are you using a microSD card? If so, the SansaFAQ in the wiki will help you out.

that straight booted me to the OF (OF means original firmware right?) but no luck.

That worked for me since I'm using a microsd, thanks.
But my friend's c250 isn't using a microsd and he's having this problem.

Treat it as if it does have one for the purposes of booting, then. It worked for me. :D

If you hold the left button while powering on you can power into the original firmware. Then change your settings as necessary, and then plug in your cord.
If your settings are already what you want, just plug it in when its off and it will automatically boot into the original firmware.

Didn't work.

Yeah, I know all this. The player doesn't recognize any connection in the OF though. It will go into OF and just charge, it will not recognize the usb connection at all.
If i format the player and reinstall the OF then it works but when I install rockbox the usb connection fails in the OF. This is on the c250 by the way.
