when i shutdown the ipod with rockbox booted, and it goes off completely, i cant get it back on. it had a good amount of power left in it, but it wont come back on or respond when connected to computer. ive been pressing whatever random button combos i can think of and toggling the hold switch. i dunno what to do,, but last time this happened, my sister did something(randomly) and it came back on.

If you flick the "hold" switch off, then hold MENU+SELECT for 6 seconds, it will reboot itself. This should always work unless the battery is dead or there's a hardware problem.
I and some other people have had this problem occasionally (shutdown and it takes a hard reboot to bring it back up again), but it's not very often for me.

Hold needs to be on then off, it clears something (or seems to) by turning it on and off again.
And it can be MUCH longer than 6 seconds. Give it at least 30, and try it four or five times if it doesn't work the first time.
