Title: Docking Station for Sansa e280 RockBoxed
Post by: Pedro74 on November 07, 2007, 05:24:39 AM
Hi,
I have bought a Sansa e280 FM + Sansa Docking Station and I want to install RockBox Firmware.
Can I use my RockBoxed Sansa 280 FM with the Doking Station?
Can you tell me if Rockbox today supports the remote control with Docking Station?

Thanks :-)

Pedro

rockbox doesnt work with the docking stations (so no fm or remote)... but line-out through the dock may work

Thanks a lot.
I hope that someone will fix these functions with next firmware versions.

Won't happen until someone figures out where the serial port is on the Sansa's CPU (PortalPlayer). It's not documented anywhere, so it'll take someone a long time and a lot of hard work to figure it out.

So don't hold your breath.

Ok Thanks.
Only another question... Please... The last one:
I install RockBox on my device, can I use the docking station as usual
turning on my Sansa with the original firmware before connect it to the dock?

Thanks a lot
Bye

Pedro

Yes - nothing about installing Rockbox stops you using any feature of the original firmware.
