I have an IPod 4G Photo IPod with 20GB HD.
I have been using the Rockbox builds up until the latest build posted.
Recently though, within past 3-4 weeks, have been experiencing
playback issues.
Menus and everything else works, its just playback and
forward to next track / rewind (previous track)
The last stable build, happened to save it and am currently running that
one, is build 15225 - works well, no issues that I see for my IPod.
Not sure exactly which version after that build when it started, but any
of the current builds, when I'm in play mode, and hit forward or rewind,
sometimes it will show the next MP3 on the text scroll, but still plays
the prior song. Or, it will forward to that next song, but about 10-15 seconds in, will pause for a few seconds, and then start playback.
Then randomly, if the IPod is playing, and going onto other songs,
some songs play continuously, others will pause for upto 5 seconds,
and then start again.
I went back to build 15225, and don't experience any of these pause
and or forward/reverse issues. Any idea what might have changed since
then? Is this a bug? Or is this related to patching to make it compatible
for other players?

Went into the daily archives and downloaded build 15275, and that one still works properly as well, will try a few more builds and see if I can pinpoint where the pausing starts.
OK, did more build loads and figured out where it starts.
2007-10-25 Rockbox 1947 KB maps changelog english.voice 1140 KB 15294
seems to be the last build I can load on the IPod Photo 4G with no playback issues.

From this build and on, I get the pauses, when you hit forward, sometimes, the next track is displayed, but keeps playing the current song, not the new song. Additional pauses during playback, all songs are MP3 format

1) Please don't double post.
2) 15306 was the metadata on buffer commit, a fairly major change to the buffering engine. Bugs are being worked out with it still. Keep trying new builds (there are many every day). In the meantime check for an existing bug report on flyspray. If there isn't one for what you are seeing, please create one with detailed instruction on how to recreate your problems. Please also make sure before you do to test with the very latest current build (not daily) and to state the buid revision on the bug report
