Title: I appreciate
Post by: jmdennis on July 26, 2007, 10:40:07 PM
I just wanted to say that I appreciate the Rockbox coders.  I had tried Rockbox about a year ago and even converted some of my music to ogg format but it did not play very well.  I wiped out Linux on my Mac and reloaded it with OS X and I also wiped out Rockbox as it did not do any thing for me that the Apple Firmware did not do.  In the mean time I have all my music in AAC format.  I always had to use the build from Mikeage as I could not get Rockbox to play more then a few songs before locking up.  I was getting the same error that others were getting undefined instruction after playing a good amount of songs but then when I rebooted it would come back again after playing just a few songs.  I appreciate the work that went into fixing this and glad that I gave Rockbox a try again.  A lot has changed and I am sure that more changes will come.

It's always good to hear friendly words from people who enjoy the project.

So what are you armed with, fellow Rockboxer? If it's okay to ask, that is. :)

Oooh, we're playing guess the target?  I want to play!

. . . I'm going to go with a 4g iPod. . .

And I also very much appreciate the continual improvements to Rockbox.

I say it's a 5G video!

And thank you to the Rockbox team for making my Xmas gift and making it the best gift I got since my dad got me a 2MB RAM upgrade for my old 386 back in 1991!

It is a iPod color or also known as iPod Photo.  I could not afford the video.  I bought the Photo off ebay that had problems with the hard drive but it was still under warranty and Apple fixed the problem for free.  I do appreciate the project but wish they would make more improvements on current projects before adding new one's.

People work on what they enjoy - it's what free software (in both senses of the word) is all about. No-one gets paid to do this - it's done as a hobby.
