Title: For the frequent upgraders..Wouldn't CCleaner Help?
Post by: cpnfantstk on July 23, 2007, 10:19:19 AM
I noticed when having my Gigabeat connected and running CCleaner (registry cleaner), and click on issues , the program actually shows all the unnecessary files on it . This is probably due to the constant upgrading to new builds which I do every couple of weeks. Good idea to delete these and would it make a difference in any way in performance of the unit? Thanks.

How does CCleaner know what files are unnecessary to Rockbox?

We really can't answer your question since you haven't told us which files CCleaner is suggesting be deleted.

My guess is that he refers to files in the "\System Volume Information" folder or perhaps the Recycle bin. The disktidy plugin should fix that. Disabling System Restore for the "Gigabeat drive" would stop files from appearing in "System Volume Information".
