Title: music not showing up on 5g ipod

i initialized the database, and it read all the music
i restarted it,
and when i tried to play my music, the database was blank
i tried initializing a few more times, but it stilll doesnt work
i am using the standard build

have you tried rebooting? you need to reboot after initilizing the database.

yea i did, just like it said
but the database is blank
nothing at all
i tried initializing again, and nothing

GAH!!
i tried putting in some songs just in a playlist folder in the root, and when i try to play those it says
 error no codec "file path"
but it gives the file path of the song in the quotes
whats going on with my ipod?

1) Please follow our forum guidelines. I suggest re-reading them, they ask that you edit your previous post if nobody has responded when you want to post again.

2) Please report exact error messages. It sounds like you may not have properly extracted the rockbox.zip file.

No, Llorean said to report the exact error messages. Please follow the requests if you wish to get any help.

I don't know. As I said, exact error messages are helpful. If you've extracted them improperly, doing the same thing again won't help because you're doing something wrong. If you're doing it right, then you shouldn't need to do it again. What exactly did you do? Where are the .codec files located on your player, exactly?

in the codec folder?
there are no files
hm....i MUST have extracted wrong or something


*edit* i re-extracted rockbox, and the codecs are all working
but now none of the .rock files work
when i try to open them it says
"incompatible model"
