Title: How to display folder structure in 'now playing' screen?
Post by: 4lex on July 21, 2007, 07:20:45 AM
Gday all. Just got started with Rockbox, and it's finally made my ipod useful. My music has poor id3 tag integrity, so the folder browser functionality in Rockbox is a godsend.

I'd love to see the folder structure displayed on the now playing screen, just like the folders on this very forum, as we see above, as I guess like many others I sort my music by foders, like this:
Music\Artist\Year - Album\[Disk number]\Track no - Track Name

so I'd love to be able to get rockbox to show me that detail while playing. Looked through all the ready made themes I could find to no avail, so I guess I may have to write this for myself unless anyone can point me to a suitable theme?

If not, are there internal variables for path and or folder name in rockbox, and is there a way to parse out the backslashes from the path string to delineate the detail to current folder, parent folder, grandparent folder etc?

Cheers for any help,
Alex

See the CustomWPS  (http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome?topic=CustomWPS)wiki page. In particular, check %fp and the %d1, %d2... tags.
