Ok. I would like to check the SD card - I know you said you tried a couple of them, but I would like to verify that it should work. How big of a card is it? Do you know how to check if the card's partition table is GPT or MBR? I would like to verify that the partition table is MBR, and double-check that it is formatted as FAT.
Also, how did you format the card?

You do not have a "rockbox_main.aigo_erosqn" redirect file on the card, do you?
Does booting into the stock firmware work? (Hold Play + Power, I recommend holding Play until the screen comes on)

These have the new bootloader, but they are installed by putting them on the SD card, naming them "update.upt", and running the stock recovery/updater tool.

Am I right in thinking it now gets the information directly from the ID3 tags on-the-fly rather than the database? Was the plan not to use cuesheets and extended playlist formats? Was it decided to do it this way instead?
Anyway, it doesn't seem to cause a significant slowdown in accessing playlists.
[edit] if it's now a permanent feature I guess the manual probably needs another update?

Yesterday I tried to execute the process you describe, the partition table was properly updated in the iPod storage (SD card). And when I got to the part where the image is generated with scramble I noticed my rockbox build generated a rockbox.ipod bootloader instead of a rockbox.bin. I searched for how to get the .bin instead, unsuccessfuly, so I continued the described process using the .ipod file instead of the .bin . When I wrote it to the iPod’s first partition and rebooted it, it would not boot, so I assume it did not work.
I’ll be grateful if you provide me instructions on how to compile the rockbox.bin file, or how can I execute the described process with the rockbox.ipod instead

« Last post by dconrad on September 09, 2024, 11:03:12 PM »Just to update this thread about the Native port, we got the hardware v3 compatibility stuff merged, so v3 players can now use the v3 bootloader and v1/v1.5/v2 players can now use the v1v2 bootloader. They both use the same rockbox build. If your player is working well as is, no need to update the bootloader unless you want to for some reason.
