Title: Sansa Clip+: no longer possible to access files when connected to USB
Post by: aalemann on October 27, 2011, 03:46:41 PM
Hi,

Since a week or two, I am running Rockbox Version 3.9.1 on my Sansa Clip+ and I am very happy with it.

But now I wanted to add some music: I connected my Sansa Clip+ to my PC and a window popped up asking me what I want to do, see screenshot_1.png (I know, it is in german, but I guess you know what the text means by looking at the symbols).

So I clicked on the first on and a folder opens, see screenshot_2.png.
These are only the folders and files which were originally installed on my device.

I cannot access all the other music files I copied to that device, and I cannot access my sansa Clip+ like I can access a USB-stick, it gets no device letter. Therefore I cannot access it with the RockboxUtility. (Although all the files are still on my Sansa Clip+)

What happened, how can I fix this serious problem, any ideas?

cheers,
aalemann

You are connecting in MTP mode.  Boot the original firmware and set the USB mode to MSC.

ok, that was a fast answer, thank you. :)

Unfortunately, I forgot my Sansa Clip+ in the office and now I am at home and cannot try this solution, but it sounds somehow familiar to me... I will report tomorrow if it worked
