This build is a reverse bootloader that boots the original firmware (OF.bin) by default. To boot rockbox, hold down the left button while booting.
Installation
See http://e200.digerati1338.googlepages.com/reversebl

This will break your original sansa firmware, and empty the version.txt file in the recovery mode.
Don't use it.
-
Tested build, and it does work as advertised. When booting, goes to OF by default, and can access RB by holding |<<. However, inserting USB cable before booting boots into RB, not the OF (tries to 'use' |<< thinking it's loading the OF maybe?)
d3nn1as: are you sure you had Rockbox installed?
-
Like I said it has been tested. I know the fix for that USB bug since I needed to use it for my MultiBL over at AnythingButIpod. I should have a new version of this up soon that will fix that bug.
-
The USB bug has been fixed as of 4/27/07. I just released a new version based on updated SVN, though I'm not sure anything besides the bug fix changed.
-
Same thing happened to me as d3nn1as, Empty Version .txt in recovery mode. :-\
Yes rockbox was working, no I didn't do anything other than place the .mi4 on the root of my sansa e250. Broke my original firmware. Had to get original .mi4 and .rom to recover the sansa back to default state. Take care with this e250 owners. Can anyone confirm this working on an e250 ?? I'd really like |<< for rockbox too.
-
I'm a bit concerned over 2 people reporting a similar bug. I've tried every build of this I've released multiple times and it works fine on my e260. I can't seem to duplicate your symptoms.
Could you describe exactly what you did?
I would also make sure you have a correctly decrypted OF.bin file and SVN rockbox.
-
Tell me please: what version of original firmware is your loader based on?
-
Oops my BAD.. I didn't have a properly decoded OF.bin in the system folder. :-[
Works correctly upon making my own OF.bin. Good work.
-
I am pleased to hear that it works for you.
Eli: it is not based on any original firmware. It will simply load the firmware stored in OF.bin. I believe sansapatcher puts this there for you. If original firmware is updated, OF.bin should be updated to reflect that. The loader will work properly with any firmware, including themed firmware.
Does anyone know how to tell if the SVN bootloader files have changed? I would like to try to keep this on track with SVN, but I don't think the files change that often. I suppose it doesn't make a whole lot of difference unless there are major bootloader changes.

Thanks a lot for posting it.. It was very good.. No need to hold down the button every single time :D
-
guys i have the problem cant fin original. Plz give me instructions how to fix... fast
-
I figured it out but still cant get reversebl to work ut my original firmware is now replaced through recovery mode!!!
Need step by step instructions. All I did is follow above instructs and it screwed mine up too.
-
sry my fault
-
!!!! PLZ upload file again link broken !!!!
Question: IS THERE PROBLEM WITH 250 or NOT and what is OF.bin ?
Thx
-
The link is fixed. It works with the e250. OF.bin is the original firmware binary, which is the decrypted OF.mi4. It is not needed anymore since sansapatcher takes care of that.
Step by step instructions are on the linked site I posted.
-
hello, im trying to have both Rockbox and a few themes the Mod Original Op system of the sansa e200. i followed your steps on the web site. down load sansa patcher and then from cmd
cd\desktop
Run "sansapatcher.exe -a ReverseBL 2007-14-12.mi4"
finds specified dir on G:\ and all is good but when it tries to open the
ReverseBL 2007-14-12.mi4 it says it cannot open file
and the bootloader fails to install.
any ideas what may be the problem? could the file be corrupt, or am i running into firmware issues, i have a V1 running 01.02.18a.
kinda stuck, any ideas
-
Will this ever be built for the e200R series?
-
the last time i tried to install it, it completly messed up my original firmware .so can some one give me more detailed instructions then posted in the link on how to install this ;D
-
Has anyone tried this on an e270? I read this worked with e260, but what about the 270? I don't want to end up messing up my original firmware. Thanks for any help.
-
The entire all models of the V1 E200 series are the same, except for the total amount of flash memory they have.
What determines if you can use a particular bootloader is the version (1 or 2) and if its an "R" or not.

Nice, i hope this will reverse the function of it being powered on by having the cable installed, i use my sansa in my car in a docking station, and its annoying 9 times out of ten unless i remember to boot it before turning on the car it boots to OF
