Title: Apple support screen on nano : rockbox corrupted?
Post by: jools on September 20, 2006, 03:07:38 AM
Hi everyone,

Thanks for this awesome rockbox. I was an ipodlinux user before but now I prefer a thousand times rockbox. I have an ipod nano 2GB, first gen.
I had a problem yesterday (I was using rockbox for more than a week without any problem) :
Without changing anything in my working rockbox install (and I haven't updated my apple firmware), I had the apple support screen and I was only able to go to disk mode.
I think I know the circumstances : the ipod was on (on pause, not playing) and it may have run short of battery (I was not looking at my ipod when it happened).
When I tried to turn on the ipod, I got the apple support screen...
I was able to reboot to disk mode and I noticed that there was very very few battery left (that's why I supposed the ipod ran short of battery).
Is there any issue with rockbox when there is no power left that corrupts the install?
After that I reinstalled rockbox (I put the 2006 09 19 build and I used ipodpatcher for the bootloader) and it worked ok.
Very strange....

Thanks for your work!
