Ah, I see the -500 was never considered "stable", which means it wouldn't be included in set of stuff included in a release.

https://mega.nz/file/4TZFEQzI#kn5N9g-h02YNSoAqSfk_fbvCdD2Bo7FRjQjau0uSx50
It's based on reported as working commit 8bd992c5 using latest build tools.

« Last post by asper on October 06, 2024, 01:24:55 AM »Thank you ! Now it goes past the checksum screen showing a new screen with horizontal black and white lines (no rockbox logo) but still crashing:This seems to be the reason: https://www.rockbox.org/irc/log-20200512#19:50:50 but i do not have the knowledge to dig it out.
So it says that b0de98ad is the reason but further discussion suggests that other already committed change should fix it. Anyway you can try this build with b0de98ad commit reverted: https://mega.nz/file/xKhTUDzJ#G_iqTxQsN0TK10VOqcvSQ3QnN4qKJOBBMup1Uq6gsqI

« Last post by prodtfm on October 05, 2024, 02:49:14 PM »Thanks for the information! That makes complete sense now in hindsight. I will definitely have to run that plug-in whenever I can part with my ipod, for the two or so days it will take. It will be great to know proper levels, so I'm not accidentally charging my cell at improper times. Again I really appreciate the help:) Have a great weekend

Olympus - Installation/Removal / Re: M.ROBE 500 - RockBox boot problems
« Last post by asper on October 05, 2024, 09:05:25 AM »First, I should state that no active developer currently has had access to an mrobe500, since before the 3.15 release. And the information in this thread is ... confusing, to say the least.
In the interest of trying to sort this issue out, some basic questions:
0) Have you tried a daily build from within the last month? If not, do so.
1) What _exactly_ is the problem with the current daily builds? Failure to boot, hang in the UI (where? doing what?), or something else? The more specific, you can be, the better.
2) Has the device been modded in any way (eg SSD storage), and if so, what?
3) Did the 3.15 release work properly? If no, did the 3.14 release work properly?
First of all THANK YOU VERY MUCH for answering me !
0) tried at least 2 daily builds
1) it hangs at rockbox boot, where the checsum is calculated (black screen, white text), after the checksum nothing else happens (no rockbox logo shown)
2) "Clean" device, never modded
3) Is it possible to have a link to previous versions such as 3.14 ? I don't know where to download them.

Feature Ideas / Re: Rockbox Simulator with screen only view
« Last post by speachy on October 05, 2024, 08:59:48 AM »Can you launch the simulator without the ipod image and only display a window with the ipod screen? I don't need to see the ipod case including the click wheel. I just want the screen so that this essentially becomes a rockbox mp3 player on linux.
$ ./rockboxui --help
rockboxui
Arguments:
--debugwps Print advanced WPS debug info
--nobackground Disable the background image
--old_lcd [Player] simulate old playermodel (ROM version<4.51)
--zoom [VAL] Window zoom (will disable backgrounds)
--alarm Simulate a wake-up on alarm
--root [DIR] Set root directory
--mapping Output coordinates and radius for mapping backgrounds

Feature Ideas / Re: Lyrics and album art
« Last post by speachy on October 05, 2024, 08:54:47 AM »I think it's a good idea to look at the lyrics during playback, which fall back on enbedded lyrics in mp3, ogg, flac, m4a etc..

It's also a good idea for pictureflow to use the album art enbedded in mp3, ogg, flac, m4a etc.
