Title: Is it possible to delete a recording without exiting the recording screen?
Post by: Martin_P on December 13, 2010, 01:57:17 PM
Hello,

I am using a lot the recording function. Often, my performance leaves to be desired, and therefore I stop it and start a new recording. But then I have a lot of useless files and I need to clean them by listening to them. Instead, I would like to be able to instantly delete a recording (without being forced to go in the file manager, browse to the file and delete it).

Thank you for your input.

I should add the following:

- I use an iriver H140
- I have read the Posting guidelines
- I have searched for an answer in the FAQ and with the forum search but to no avail
- The really best feature (but I am not expecting it) would be to have a key or key combination usable when recording is active that does: "delete current recording and start a new one with same file name"

Thanks.

Just a thought:
Could you possibly use the Pre Record function (if it has it in your recorder)?

Then if you were monitoring and got a "take"  that you think is good, you could then press the button and
that will be saved. Pre record (H10) is only 30 seconds max, but at least captures some off the cuff riffs nicely.

I guess it depends if you are doing full performances, and when doing that, I agree you end up with piles of files, still at least they don't disappear or anything if you recorded "gold"!

Thanks for your suggestion! Not sure it will help as my performances are longer than that. It's not a big deal anyway. Thanks again!
