Title: Old patches & New ROCKbox source?
Post by: ZeRøB on August 13, 2006, 07:59:52 AM
I downloaded the latest daily source of ROCKbox... I already had a custom build with some patches, but since that time there has been a lot new stuff in ROCKbox I've heard. Since I restored my iPod, I want to make a new build. The cool thing about my old build was that I patched ROCKboy to work with good controls. I loved that function, since iBoy (from the iPodLinux project) isn't quite as good.

Now I tried patching using the same patch (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/4857), but it failed... I can't remember what hunks failed exactly on which of those two .patch files, but it failed.

Is this because the newer builds/sources of ROCKbox already have these controls built in? If not, would it work if I just copied my old rockboy.rock over the new one?

/Edit: I just noticed this is in the wrong place, damn....

it probably won't work due to plugin_api changes

Thanks, some people are trying to help me in another thread I seemed to have hijacked. How big are these changes, and is it possible for a non-programmer with a lot of free time to rewrite the patch using the new api?
