Can you navigate to it from the command prompt?
-
How would i do that? ???
sorry. im really new to the rockbox
-
Try using http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/RockboxUtilityQt to install it.
-
k. well i tried that. and it said "Could not find Firmware at: /GBSYSTEM?FWIMG?FWIMG01.DAT"
And i try to install it. and keeps saying "Mount point is wrong" even though i have selected the Toshiba Gigabeat F.
I really want to get this working :'(
-
What directories are listed on the Gigabeat? Does the Toshiba firmware currently function properly?
-
well i tried that. and it said "Could not find Firmware at: /GBSYSTEM?FWIMG?FWIMG01.DAT"
Was that the exact output? Including the question marks? What have you entered in the "mount point" field in the configuration dialog in Rockbox Utility? What OS are you using?
And i try to install it. and keeps saying "Mount point is wrong" even though i have selected the Toshiba Gigabeat F.
The mount point is different to the device: you device is the Gigabeat, but the mountpoint indicates where in the PCs file system your player is located. That is, if you plug in the player to the PC it shows up as a drive and gets a drive letter (windows) or as a device you can mount (linux). You need to know this so-called mount point and enter it alongside with the player type.
If your player shows up as drive (windows) / is mounted to the filesystem (usually somewhere below /media) you should be able autodetecting it. Have you tried it? Autodetection will only work if the player is mounted.

Using Rockbox Utility? As that tool is quite new I'm really interested in user reports so that problems and bugs get discovered and can be fixed ;)

The problem was that i didnt have the correct device selected in the file system. I had the right audio player selected, but you also need to select what drive it is. Like an external device, F: E: etc.
But other than that the Rockbox Utility was easy. :)
Now im just looking for some things to put on my gigabeat, to make it look cooler, and other programs maybe

Turn the battery switch off and then back on again. Did you install using Rockbox Utility?
