Title: -File type not supported- & where is "system" folder?
Post by: ratwod on September 15, 2007, 10:50:10 AM
I finally got the bootloader patched, and everything is fine.

Now, the instructions say to put the pp5022.mi4 file in the "root directory".  under Windows, it says that the file is not supported.  what do i do?

The instructions also say to put the OF.mi4 file in the "system" folder.  I don't see it.  Where is it?

thanks,

Ray

You should copy that file, not run it.

It's a hidden folder. Configure explorer to show hidden folders -- check the manual for details.

Unfortunately, the manual is no help.

The new firmware for the e200r series does not allow you to select MSC mode in the settings.  Therefore, you always default to the MTP.  It treats all files like music files.  Similarly, in MTP mode, you can not see the system file.

Thanks,

Ray

If you're in MTP mode, that's the problem. The player won't accept the files, and may hide the SYSTEM folder. You should've mentioned you were in MTP mode before, as the manual says you must be in MSC.

My e250R is running 1.0.2.31 (not the new version) and it doesn't have the option either.  However, I can see the system folder just fine.  Are you sure that you have enabled the option in your operating system that allows you to see hidden files and folders?

MSC is the same as Rhapsody mode on the e200Rs.

So it is...  As well, that is the default mode for the Rhapsody devices.
