Title: ipod classic suddenly not syncing
Post by: erry on January 23, 2019, 06:19:15 AM
hi all

i have been running rockbox for many years on an iriver H140, then on a Sansa Clip Zip-  and most recently on a 160gb ipod classic

the ipod has worked absolutely fine for a good few years now (version: ce94c23e-141224)

just recently it won't allow me to access the ipod / files via any of my 3 laptops.  it is saying that it cannot install emcore driver software. and 'please insert a disc into removable disc f.  (see attached)

that being said it is still working perfectly fine as a music player.  i just cant access it it anymore using the computer-  so i am unable to re-flash the firmware etc. or make a back up and reformat etc.

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

its all gone from bad to worse-  ive now managed to get itunes to recognise the ipod-   however it looks like my only option is to restore and wipe all the contents.

hopefully the player will be salvagable-  but i will lose 150gb of music

Have you tried apple disk mode? So you are using EmCORE? Is there a emergency mode or something in the boot menu?
