The last addition to the forum ban list was December 27th, so there's something else going on in your case.
It may be that you are behind a CGNAT setup and _some_ of the IPs your ISPs use are blocked..

Audio Playback, Database and Playlists / Re: Save Current Playlist Panic
« Last post by iPodVT on March 12, 2025, 08:42:43 AM »There is still at least one edge condition causing issues.
After all of the recent testing I'd done re Save Current Playlist, I had several leftover test directories and playlists that had been created so I decided to clean things up by deleting them in the File Browser. As it turns out, Rockbox still considered one of those deleted test playlists to be the Current Playlist. This obviously caused problems for Resume (and continue) Playback, View Current Playlist, Save Current Playlist keeping same name and directory, and Save Current Playlist with new name and/or directory. There were too many variations for me to keep track of which operation yielded which result, but there was at least one Panic (which I wasn't able to reproduce - I think it was from Save Current Playlist with new name and/or directory). Some failed operations resulted in proper error messages, some with error messages that were displayed too briefly to read, and some failed operations didn't yield any error message at all (such as Save Current Playlist keeping same name and directory, IIRC).
I'm not reporting that the problem is that the operations failed to achieve desired results - of course they couldn't succeed - just that there was at least one Panic and several variations of problematic error messaging.

Thanks.

May make sense to rename it. I can't come up with a better description that is similarly succinct, at the moment, tbh...

Theming and Appearance Customization / Re: SNAZZY
« Last post by Misery on March 11, 2025, 10:53:32 PM »Misery,
I absolutely love this theme. It is fantastic and makes a lot of great improvements over the SPAZZ theme.
As someone who has had a digital music collection for a long time, I was not always the best at tagging my tracks, and as a result, I am missing a lot of artwork. Because of this, I like the way that the original SPAZZ theme handled the lock screen just by having lock text over the volume slider. It also reminds me of the stock firmware with the small padlock icon.
I have tried to alter the theme to bring back the original lock screen, but my theming knowledge is rudimentary at best (non existent, really). Can you help me understand what I should be looking for or changing to bring back the SPAZZ lock screen? I understand that I need to alter the text in the wps file, but from there I am lost.
Again, still an amazing theme that cranks up the usability over the original. As someone newer to Rockbox, adding the menu and sub menu titles at the top of the screen really help me remember which menu I have got lost in. Keep up the great work!
let me know if there's any issues.

Audio Playback, Database and Playlists / Re: View Current Playlist
« Last post by iPodVT on March 11, 2025, 10:23:54 PM »Yeah, it occurred to me, too, that Add To Playlist would be a bit out of place among all the other items already in the Database and Files context menus.
Adding every file on the device to a playlist in one fell swoop is potentially a pretty gigantic operation. Is there currently an "Are you sure you want to proceed?" query before it actually kicks off for that case? (I'm afraid to try it to find out... ;-)
If you modify Create Playlist to the single purpose of gathering all tracks on the player, would you alter its name to something more descriptive along the lines of (though probably less verbose than) Create Playlist From All Tracks?

Audio Playback, Database and Playlists / Re: View Current Playlist
« Last post by chris_s on March 11, 2025, 09:10:11 PM »Thanks for the idea. In theory, yeah. Doesn't fit too well with the existing menu items, though. The database already supports selecting all tracks, e.g. by adding (all) 'Artists' to a new playlist, so that should be covered (the sorting of tracks is another matter, but there are some patches for that)
Adjusting it, so that "Create Playlist" creates a playlist from all tracks on the player under all circumstances, instead of having the behavior depend on what directory was last selected in the File Browser, as well as what "Recursively Insert Directories" is set to, makes the most sense to me, at this point.

- Remaining functionality that may be of use is to create a playlist from all files on disk (since you can't select the root directory from the File Browser)
Could you eliminate the Create Playlist item and then put an Add To Playlist item in the context menus that hang off the Database and Files items in the Main Menu that would, respectively, act on all tracks in the database or all tracks on the device?

Rockbox Utility / Re: Two Rockbox Utility observations
« Last post by iPodVT on March 11, 2025, 11:43:52 AM »Thanks for the comprehensive explanation.
It's incredible to me that not only is Rockbox such a great and ever improving/expanding program - it's also available for so many different devices.
