Title: iPod Mini theme that is replica of Apple's theme and shows album name?
Post by: rockyboxyseventeen on March 09, 2020, 10:45:42 AM
I have an iPod Mini and looked at the 10 themes available (http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?target=ipodmini2g). I'm looking for a familiar theme that is pretty much same as the original Apple one. There are two suitable themes: PodMini and sprocket.

However the problem with PodMini is that it doesn't show the album name (just like iPod Mini's original theme), but I wish it did, like the PodOne theme on iPod Classic (https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/vUGOX99eG55EE5XZsdZ897XVmjB9tPVNVfDLTpkcfVrqiAoUdRBx-BAqq3twuVS3lo_YR7z3R9UA_xCbr55CKah6iRO0oY41BbRAtyXGcvcm-2IgA_KPnbYL8gq__8D9CA).

The problem with sprocket is that despite showing album name, it's a bit too different from original theme and it looks cluttered by showing the "Next:" song as well.

Is there an iPod Mini theme like PodOne that shows album name?

If you want a theme fitting a precise requirement like that, you would be better just writing your own.  Or, easier option, just amend one of the two you mention - it would require very small change to either of them.  e.g. you could just comment out the 'next track' statement in the second one.  Or rearrange the first one slightly to squeeze in the album name.

Thanks. I managed to simply remove the "Next" part of the sprocket theme by editing the WPS file, and also changed the font from it. Much appreciated.
